Ben Vinegar biography
Ben Vinegar is the Co-founder and CEO of Modem, a developer-first product intelligence tool. Prior to Modem, Ben was a founding engineer and later VP of Engineering at Sentry, helping grow it into one of the most widely used SaaS developer tools. Earlier he held early product engineering roles at Disqus (acquired for $90M), Shape Security (acquired by F5 for $1B), and FreshBooks.
Ben is additionally the co-author of “Third-party JavaScript,” and has been a frequent speaker at JavaScript and web development conferences. In 2024, he founded DevTools Toronto, a community organization focused on connecting developers in the Toronto ecosystem.
Ben holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Toronto.
