John Philip Green

Founder & CEO

I am the founder and Chief Executive Dad at CareGuide. I incubated CareGuide while serving as Entrepreneur in Residence at Hedgewood. In that role I also sourced investment opportunities in high-growth Internet ventures and provided functional expertise to assist portfolio companies. I still do. Previously, I was the Chief Technology Officer at FinanceIt (formerly, CommunityLend), an innovative financial services company. Before that, I founded Savvica, an online publisher focused on international education. The company operates LearnHub.com & JumboTests.com, both higher ed sites for India. We raised $2.5M in venture capital from a strategic investor, Educomp. In 2010, we acquired our KPCB-backed rival, StudyPlaces.com. We had 4.5M visits/month to our sites, over 100 employees, and were profitable with over 350 college customers. Prior to Savvica, I was the Director of Engineering at Affinity Labs, an online communities company in San Francisco. Affinity Labs was funded by the Mayfield Fund & Trinity Ventures. It was acquired after 14 months by Monster Worldwide (Nasdaq:MNST) for $61M after remarkable user engagement and revenue growth.
